Raising Royal Whiptail Fry Experiment Part 2

Raising Royal Whiptail Fry Experiment Part 2

Raising Royal Whiptail Fry Experiment Part 2

Small recap before we get into the latest results. We challenged a local Royal Whiptail breeder to see if feeding EBO Foods to their fry would have a better yield for surviving fish. As we all know they are not the easiest to grow even past 2 weeks old. To do this we got them to separate their fry from the same batch into 2 separate fry boxes and test them out. Box1 they fed their usual regiment of foods that they would usually do. Box 2 they were ONLY fed the EBO Foods range. This included but not limited to the Paste Range and Softgran Range.

We left off the last post with the following results at the end of week 2.
Box 1: 5 out of 34 Survivors
Box 2: 31 out of 35 Survivors

Week 5 results..
Box 1: 0 Survivors
Box 2: 31 out of 35 Survivors

They have reported ZERO losses in Box 2 which they continued to ONLY feed EBO. Unfortunately the fry in Box 1 didn't manage to pull through any survivors.

TEST 2.

Our breeder was supposed to conduct the same experiment again with their next lot of eggs to see if the results would be similar. Unfortunately they got too happy with the results from the first test that they decided to feed the entire batch of Whiptail Fry on EBO Foods only. This was supposed to be done on the following batch but here we are.

They are currently on Week 2 of the latest test and these are the results so far:

Hatch Day: 104 babies
Week 1: 94 out of 104 survived.
Week 2: 94 out of 104 still going.

Test 2: Royal Whiptail Fry

The first week is always the trickiest with newly hatched fry, especially Royal Whiptails. But they seem to have stabilized themselves and have learnt what their food source is with no losses in the 2nd week.

Again we will keep you updated on how this progresses.
